Residency Intensives

WHO:
Studio Owners, Directors, and Artistic Staff

LENGTH:

This residency works alongside our intensive program by providing a space for the NIJAD Company and its dancers to create new work. While in residence, the NIJAD team and dancers provides inspiration for educators to learn new ways of structuring classes and choreography. Teachers and staff will work closely with the team in a series of workshops that parallel the experience of the student intensive. This creates a streamlined experience for your entire organization to thrive.

- Team Building for Curriculum Structure and Delivery 
- Self Care and Body Awareness

‍*Students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication will be chosen to learn choreography and perform with the company in an informal showcase at the end of the residency period.

Pre-Professional Intensives

WHO:
Dancers age 16 & up

WHERE:
Dance studios, pre-professional academies, and universities.

LENGTH:
3-7 days

This intensive will provide a multi-layered system of training that prepares young dancers for life as a professional. It is a space to explore radical openness and how it can be applied to classwork and performance. This program allows participants to work closely with the NIJAD team by learning repertoire and giving choreographic input as a collaborator. Through technique and improvisation classes, we will work on refining essential artistic skills and focus on healthy practices of pushing physical expression.
