NIJAD is seeking four dancers from Minneapolis/St. Paul area to collaborate in a 5-day creative residency and informal showing. We are looking for versatile dancers and dance artists from all genres passionate about collaborating on ideas, movement, and concepts to expand our piece, Music Body, into its next development phase.
WHERE: Minneapolis, Minnesota
WHEN: June 12-16th
WHAT: Music Body is an ongoing, multidisciplinary research project that utilizes the ground-breaking SoMo technology: a wearable midi controller that connects sound with movement. Dancers will collaborate with NIJAD choreographers Jayson Douglas, Destini Rogers, and Nicole Corea in a unique process incorporating technology and movement as we aim to create the second phase of this existing body of work.
WHO: All genres of dancers ages 18+
COMPENSATION: Full 25-hour participation including showing: $687.50 - $27.50 p/h
Please note: This 5-day process will consist of 25 hours of rehearsal between June 12th-16th, culminating with an informal showing for guests on June 16th.
